Scott Chlopan has been teaching for over 24 years, the last 18 at Concordia. His specialty is in Teaching English as a Second Language and teacher training for this field. Scott has always been a strong voice for part-time faculty, whether on committees (Senate, Strategic Directions Planning Committee, PTHCs, Departmental Council, Labour Management Committee, Chair Search Committees, Negotiation Committee to name a few) or whether in various CUPFA sponsored campaigns (from the rotating strike some years back to yearly charitable events).
Scott was first elected to the CUPFA Executive in 2011 and has proudly served CUPFA members as the Executive Secretary for three mandates. The Executive Secretary position requires a person who deeply understands both the activities and duties of each member of the Executive and the workings of the broader university community. Scott has demonstrated that he possesses these specific capacities to the highest possible level.
